Tea for three

Last month's visit with sister Moon, niece lil bird and the family was such a wonderful time. Did all the things we always do plus a few more adventures. Needless to say a good time was had.

One day we met up with Miss K, a friend of Moon's, for lunch. We dined at Mongolian BBQ which is a build-it-yourself lunch. They have a buffet line of raw ingredients so you can throw anything you wish into your stir-fry. Just hand your bowl to the cook and he fries it up on a huge flat sizzling wok. Wish I had taken pictures, but I didn't 'cause we were too busy yakking and enjoying the lunch.

After lunch, sister noticed a tea shop across the parking lot. We drink tea so let's go look see. Oh my, we could have spent hours in the shop. Owners were very helpful with their product and some of the most wonderful samples. I tried the pomegranate and ended up buying two ounces. I also got a tea that they mix themselves I do believe, that is lemon ginger.

Given the temps here and elsewhere around the country warm drinks are at the top of the list, at least for me.

Tell me do you drink tea?, what are your favorites?, do you have a tea bar in your community? Share your favorites please. Oh and some folks cook with tea - something you have done?

I don't really know a lot about tea, but I tend to like red tea the best. It just seems sweeter to me. I like chai too.

I love black tea, but don't drink it anymore because I am so sensitive to the caffeine. But, I made a wonderful dessert with it.

I poached Bartlett pears in brewed black tea (its best with good full leaf tea) and then served them warm with a little spoonful of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel syrup. Awesome!

happy to have stumbled across your blog. I have been a store brand tea drinker for a few years until a year ago, when I found http://www.tea-grotto.com

Not only are the employees amazingly helpful, but they have wonderful teas.
right now my favorites are; Black Masala,Yerba Mate peach mango, Oolong Heaven's Formosa(just picked this up. It is described as having a buttry texture with hints of carmel. It is yum!), Green Strawberry Cream(the employee told me this was her fav green so not being much of a strawberry cream lover I decided to trust her. And it is awesome, especially with a tiny but of sugar.

Visit their website. And if you are ever in Salt Lake, I'll meet you for a cup!

I am a tea freak! My favorite all-time tea is organic 'Snow Buds' which is a white tea. I also really like Sencha-style green tea, as the unmitigated green tea is a lil too astringent-y for me. I was very happy to see Dr. Oz endorse white & green tea on Oprah yesterday :-)

Republic of Tea's Honey Ginseng is wonderful. If you heat a few ounces of milk while steeping the tea, and then add hot water and sugar, it tastes like you're drinking sweet and creamy honey. It is a delightful treat that will warm you up, and feels like a bit of heaven.

My all time favorite is chai, but I usually drink it unsweetened, when possible.

I love Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's Chai Latte, but I had to swear off black tea because of my hyperacidity.

So now I keep at least three kinds of herbal infusions at home at any one time. Cranberry, lemon, and peppermint right now. Oh, and green tea always.
